Welcome to the Duke of York
A Hanwell Landmark Since the 1700s
The Duke of York stands proudly in the heart of Hanwell, housed in a charming Tudorbethan-style building with over 300 years of history. Originally built in the early 1700s as a coaching inn on the London to Oxford route, it has been a place of continuous hospitality ever since.
In 1835, the pub became part of Sich & Co. Ltd, a renowned Chiswick brewery. It later passed to Isleworth Brewery and then to Watney’s—each chapter adding to its rich brewing heritage.
Today, we honour that legacy by offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere rooted in tradition but forward-looking in spirit.
Locally Sourced. Sustainably Run. Proudly British.
We’re passionate about supporting local producers and running our pub as sustainably as possible. Our drinks menu features standout selections from the area’s finest brewers and distillers, while our seasonal food menu highlights the best of British produce, seafood, and meats.
